The organization I work for has a lot of Muslim clients, and this morning my office mates and I decided that the middle of Ramadan was the perfect time to discuss bacon. A little bit of googling produced several places commiserating about the great loss; a few sites that indicate certain dollar stores might carry bad knockoffs; and no recipes. My workplace always relies on me to find stuff (because I'm a dweeb) and I'm about to lose my street cred. Does anyone have a source? Better yet.with bacon salt on the market these days, does anyone have a recipe?
Any culinary types have an idea of how to create the buttery, bacony goodness? Nabisco really missed the boat on this one given the recent bacon meme. If I can whip up a batch of homemade bacon thins next weekend I'd be able to maintain my 'Ask chique, she'll find out' rep.You really had to be there. Quote: Originally posted by ME I would like to know, please, if your company has a recipe for the discontinued Bacon Thins that could be duplicated by a competent home cook.
I don't want a form letter - I know y'all thought about it carefully and made a business decision and unfortunately blah blah blah. Just because.y'all. don't want to make them doesn't mean.I.

don't want to give it a shot. So please, make people happy - release a Bacon Thin recipe into the wilds of the internet. Or, at the very least, my inbox. Pretty please? Just say yes and I'll send you brownies - I make great brownies. Well, then, how about extortion? Some of the 'required' information I entered below may not be entirely correct.
You give me a recipe, I give you my address. I'll even give you my phone number. Probably not going to help, is it. Try spraying Club crackers, or any plain buttery cracker, with Chef David Burke's Smokey Bacon spray. Warm in the oven for ten minutes at 200 F.
Gives the thin a run for it's money. Hmmm, interesting. Never heard of the stuff before. Have you actually tried this? More importantly: were you a Bacon Thin connoisseur, or was this a 1:30a 'I'm drunk and hungry. Hey, let's try this!'
But, more importantly (she says after googling around), is FlavorSpray still in business? It appears they are not, so your suggestion was perhaps a big tease.
This warm crockpot crack dip is a gooey combo of bacon, cheddar, and ranch. It’s only fitting this queso appetizer is called crack dip since it is so addicting!
Crockpot Crack Dip I just got the cutest little 2.5-quart slow cooker and I instantly knew I wanted to make crockpot crack dip with bacon, cheddar, and ranch. It’s the perfect size for hot dips and side dishes, like our popular! I love this time of year. Football kicks off and so does the snack food.
I’ve been chips-and-dip obsessed recently as you can tell by the creamy and the grilled or I posted recently. One of the best parts about dips is that they’re so easy to make, they hardly even need instructions. Especially this one since you essentially dump all the ingredients in the slow cooker and let it do its thing.

However, I do have a few tips so this turns out as tasty as possible. Firstly, I always recommend you shred your own cheese from a block. The pre-shredded bags are convenient, of course, but they don’t taste as fresh in my opinion nor do they melt as well since they’re coated in anti-caking powders. You can use white cheddar if you prefer a white queso dip. Secondly, I prefer this dip with low-sodium bacon if you can get it. It’s not essential, but if you’re sensitive to salty food I recommend it since the ranch seasoning is quite salty enough. Not to mention salted chips if that’s what you’re using as a dipperall the salt adds up!
Ingredients you will need:. 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, cubed.
2 cups sour cream. 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese.
6 sliced of bacon, cooked and crumbled. 1 package (1 oz) ranch dip or seasoning mix.
Crackers, chips or veggies for dipping Helpful kitchen tools:. with shredding disc. Lastly, a note about the ranch packet.
There were several options available at the grocery store and they’re pretty similar. There was one titled “dressing and seasoning mix” and one labeled for dips. I opted for the one with lesser sodium. I also recommend starting with half a pack and adding more after the dip is melted if it needs more seasoning. For dipping, some of my favorites for this Crock-Pot crack dip include tortilla chips, ruffled potato chips, sliced baguette, butter crackers and broccoli florets. You really can’t go wrong with any dippers! Find more dip recipes below!
